How can I send SMS messages?

Receiving SMS messages is always FREE.

You can send SMS messages within France for a low fixed rate. This does not apply to any paid-for SMS services you may have subscribed to.

How can I receive SMS messages?
You do not have to do anything special to receive SMS messages. Most phones indicate the reception of an SMS message thanks to a sound and/or a small, closed envelope on the screen. Please refer to your mobile phone manual to find out how you are informed about a new SMS message and how to read it.

Can I use paid SMS services?
You can use SMS for all kinds of special services, such as traffic updates, football results and TV voting. Ortel Mobile will charge you the price of a normal SMS message but the providers of these special paid-for services will charge you extra. The cost of receiving a message will depend on which service you are using.

How can I cancel a paid SMS service?
If you are receiving paid-for SMS messages, contact the provider of this SMS service to cancel the service.

Does Ortel Mobile prepaid support MMS?
At present you cannot send MMS messages with Ortel Mobile.

To access
mobile Internet from your mobile phone using an Ortel Mobile SIM card?
If you have an Android smartphone or an iPhone, you can configure Internet mobile with MyOrtel Config application.A few steps to configure your mobile with MyOrtel Config application

1. Log in to ortelmobile.fr website with your mobile phone using WiFi > section ‘Mobile Internet configuration
2. Download the application
3. Configure your mobile phone
4. Once configuration has been finalized with success, enjoy using mobile Internet with Ortel!

If your mobile isn’t an Android smartphone or an iPhone, please consult the Internet, WAP or GPRS section in your phone user instructions. The mobile Internet configuration options are usually in the "parameters" section, then 'connection" of your phone.

Mobile Internet is invoiced at 0,25€ by Megaoctet.

The parameters are as follows:
APN (or access point name): gprs-service-fr.net
Login: none (don't enter anything)
Passeword: none (don't enter anything)

How to disable Internet on my mobile?
You can uninstall the APN parameters set on your handset or contact the Customer Service.

The mobile Internet option is activated on all Ortel Mobile SIM cards. You only have to set the parameters on your phone to get access.
